Bill Belichick Press Conference Analysis (2021 Season)
Bill Belichick doesn't like to be asked questions from the media. Usually. Nevertheless he must show up and take questions at his press conferences. Who is Bill's favorite member of the press and what types of questions does he enjoy?
9/6 Press Conference - Video - Transcript
Mike Giardi - NFL NETWORK - Bill wasn't trying to answer a specific question about Tua. So he kept it really brief. But Mike followed up with another player specific question about Jaylen Waddle before conceding "is it a little too early to be talking about that?" I'm very surprised Bill went on a decent length ramble and added a little bit on Waddle. So good work Mike Giardi - it doesn't appear Bill hates you yet.
Andrew Callahan - BOSTON HERALD - Andrew asked a player specific question. Again, Bill wasn't trying to get into specifics. So on the follow up, sort of like Giardi, he probably figured well what the fuck let me ask some general strategy shit to get Bill talking. Bill added a bit of detail naming names and stuff but still didn't think it was that great of a question.
Mike Reiss - ESPN - I'm always curious what this dude, Mike Reiss, is going to ask because it seems like Mike and Bill do not have the greatest comradery. A soft ball regarding unrestricted free agent transitioning to the team. He must be gearing up to ask something wilder soon. Nope. Just a question about Malcolm Perry - who has been on the team for one day. A little bit surprised that Bill gave some specific info on Perry.
Tom Curran - NBC Sports - I couldn't wait for Bill's answer to this question. "what did you perceive you were going to lose when he went to Miami". Just wondering if he thought Bill would actually answer that. Then he brings up Gold Standard - which again - is Bill going to mess around with that kind of language? Of course not.
Phil Perry- NBC Sports - Long question, but one that you would think wouldn't need to be asked? Bill gave a cookie cutter response. The second question was deeper and I appreciated it as well as Bill's response. He thanked Bill and Bill said You're Welcome. So I think this dude is currently on Coach's good side. Will be monitoring.
Mark Daniels - Providence Journal - A quick question about JC Jackson. A long answer about everybody. What does that tell you? Keep an eye on that.
Chris Ryan - NH Today Show - Couple questions about Mac Jones and a couple answers about everybody.
