What Gritty Remembers: I remember seeing Hadden posted something on Facebook about engineering at Project Sound. I was feeling the itch to go back into a studio because it's like a pretty weird experience. Why so weird - well my first three or four years of making music was just homerecording as I'm sure it was for many. I didn't feel like that gave me enough experience to do something more professional but whatever I went for it. So I was having one of those moments again in December of 2015. I didn' t intend to make an album. This was I remember specifically being a Night Before kinda thing. For each of these four, I came up with the first riff or two and the lyrics ahead of time. Went into the studio for a two day session and these four songs came out of that. Looking back I think that was the longest time I've ever spent recording four songs. I really enjoyed recording these sessions. It was my first time playing bass on record and I think these songs are the most bass driven in the Gritty catalog. Also I didn't want to do the verse and chorus thing. The Gritty Band has played 'I Ain't Touchin The Handles' with some regularity, but I don't think any of the others - yet. Don't worry we'll give them a try. Drums were always recorded last. I remember being very self conscious as I had intended to make a rock 'n roll record but these ones are pretty dark by Gritty standards - at least up until this point.
